Hello. I am Han Kyung-heon, the CEO of Youngjin Fisheries  Association. 


Youngjin Fisheries Association is an aquaculture farm located at Jeju Seongsan region, and we utilize pure lava seawater for eco-friendly seafood cultivation. Youngjin Fisheries Association focuses on farming starry flounder, and we run three out of four farms in Korea with HACCP and eco-friendly (antibiotic-free) certificates. We also use microbial fermented feed to minimize the use of antibiotics and produce safe and healthy seafood. We are committed to creating a safe seafood brand under the philosophy, “Clean and safe seafood for everyone.

Natural Habitat of Starry Flounder


Starry flounder is found in the Northern East Sea of Korea, Northern Japan, Sea of Okhotsk, Bering Sea, and Southern California.

② Benefits of Starry Flounder


Starry flounder contains high-quality protein, including essential amino acids. It is also rich in Omega-3 fatty acid that lowers blood pressure and facilitates blood circulation. Its rich vitamin D and B12 also enhances bone health and nervous system function. The selenium, iodine, and magnesium boost immunity and improve thyroid function while vitamin A and Omega-3 fatty acid contribute to eye health. Starry flounder is also loved as highly nutritious seafood with various benefits, including antioxidant effect.   

  

③ Premium Species, Starry Flounder


Starry flounder is a premium fish species recognized in both academic and industrial fields. Starry flounder has a higher market price than general flatfish species, and this white-colored premium species has better texture than olive flounder. Starry flounder heavier than 500g is mainly consumed as sliced raw fish. The National Fisheries Research and Development Institute has published a starry flounder farming manual to recognize its high value and encourage aquaculture.

“Jeju Gang-Dodari” is a brand created by 

Youngjin Fisheries Association, Shinoh Fisheries Association, and Youngjin Fisheries 

with HACCP and eco-friendly (antibiotic-free) certificates, and it was created from dedicated efforts.


We utilize pure lava seawater from Jeju Seongsan region for eco-friendly aquaculture. 

We run three out of four starry flounder farms in Korea with HACCP and eco-friendly (antibiotic-free) certificates. We run aquaculture farms specializing in starry flounder, and we are committed to creating a safe seafood brand under the philosophy, “Clean and safe seafood for everyone.”

Differentiated Quality Control

 

We use Jeju lava seawater, a safe underground water resource, free from harmful substances and toxins for starry flounder farming. Jeju lava seawater is Jeju Island’s key resource with high industrial value for containing functional minerals. (Rich in useful minerals, such as magnesium, potassium, and calcium as well as rare minerals, such as zinc, iron, manganese, and vanadium.)


Use of Microbial Fermented Feed

Youngjin Fisheries Association stands out for its microbial fermented feed.

We use microbial fermented feed to reduce the use of antibiotic and keep the fish healthy. This technology completed a microbial culture test and proved digestive absorption improvement and health management effects. It is currently under patent application.
